"This thank you message is for the teacher Shari whom I had the pleasure of attending her vinyasa 1, class tonight. At least once in every yoga class you hear "if it honors your practice do it this way" it usually means a harder pose to get into... I always liked the words because it meant a challenge for me. After 3 years of yoga practice (off and on) tonight it was said in different words that really hit me in an AHA moment... The first time she said "if it honors your practice" the second time she said "if it honors your heart" But the third time she said "if it honors your body"... For someone who has always felt like his body has never been his own this was a huge moment. I am honoring - my body - through what - I - am doing. I will never hear those words any other way. I am glad I was present and stayed in the moment to enjoy -my- body's aha moment. Maybe I have heard it in those words before and never figured it out either way THANK YOU for the aha moment." - Zack

In this class, you will learn to use your eyes to evaluate a particular asana. You will also learn to use your hands with the intention of helping the student enjoy a more positive practice. In this playful class we’ll partner up, use props and push and pull on one another. You do not need to be a teacher to participate. Some yoga experience is recommended.

Kundalini yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. Called by practitioners "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others. We will do a full sadhana practice and lighten ourselves and the space just that much more.

MODULE THREE ~ Energetic Awakening, Yogic Philosophy and Personal Balance
The goal of the yogi is to learn, grow and unite with the divine inside all of us. Ancient sages identified and categorized many energetic principles and created systematic disciplines to further physical well-being and to relax the mind to awaken an enlightened state and elevate consciousness. Positive and beneficial energy inside and around us goes largely untapped. Building awareness of the roles our thoughts, actions and physical practice play in our overall health and well-being is paramount in being able to inspire and uplift others in personally affirming ways.
